Q: Will my lawn be damaged after the installation? A: There will be minimal disturbance to your lawn. Our machines pull the pipe underground cutting the lawn much like a knife cuts a slice of pie. After the pipe is pulled in, the cut is then run over by the tires of the machine to smooth out the bump that's made during the cutting. A lot of the time, the grass is completely back to normal in a couple of weeks. The amount of time the grass needs to recover depends on the current health of the lawn. However, adding regular watering to the grass via an irrigation system is undoubtedly a good way to improve its health. Q: Is an Irrigation System a time saver? A: YES! Some customers reported that they spent up to 6 hours or more dragging a garden hose around the yard! Imagine the convenience of automatic watering just by flipping a switch! The Irrigation System is controlled by a computer which doesn't forget to turn itself on or move the watering to different parts of the yard. Q: What if I decide to change my landscaping after I put the Sprinkler System in? A: Not to worry... It is always possible to reconfigure the Irrigation System, and we do it all the time! We will work closely with you and your landscapers to provide the proper design and timing configuration that best suits the new changes. Q: Why do I see Sprinkler Systems running while it's raining? A: Most likely the System does not have a Rain Sensor, or the Sensor is not configured properly. Either way, the remedy is easily fixed. Rain Sensors pay for themselves by reducing wasted water when it rains. Q: Will my water bills go up? A: That depends. If you water your yard with a hose, they would most likely go down. The Irrigation System conserves water by efficiently covering areas, eliminating run-off or wasted water by the garden hose. If you don't water your grass at all, but are ready for a nice lush green lawn, then you can expect to see an increase depending on the size of the yard and the frequency of watering. Q: Is it dangerous to have electrical wiring underground? A: No, it is not. The Irrigation System runs on a low voltage current of only 24 volts - so low, it can be wired live by our technicians. All wire used is made to be buried underground and all wire-splices are sealed in a water tight splice-kit. Q: How hard is it to set the timer? A: It's as easy as setting the clock on your V.C.R. Have trouble setting that clock? No problem - your clock will be set up by us during your Spring Turn On. We also offer Weekly, Bi-Weekly, and Monthly checks to best suit your needs. Q: If the power goes out will I have to reprogram the timer every time? A: Absolutely not! The controllers we use have a new type of memory called "volatile memory". That means that your timing settings will stay set even if the power goes out! There is also a 9-volt battery to keep the clock running when that happens (just like in your alarm clock) that is quite easy to replace.
